"Victor, I love your style
of presentation. You are not a get rich quick preacher-kind of rah-rah
motivational speaker with a lot of fluff and no substance."

A Testimonial
Subject: Cold calling, Sales,
Success, Prospecting
By Victor Antonio
I send out my article, "Cold
Calling is a Numbers Game" last week. I often wonder if my
articles have any tangible impact on those who read it. Well, my
wondering is over. The story you are about to read is true.

Victor, hope you're doing well.
Thanks for your write-up on "cold calling" last Friday.
After having read the article, I asked myself the question, what other
opportunities or clients, could I be passing up? That thought bothered
me. I then sat down and went back to my old target lists and selected
eight contacts. The first one on my list was that of a worldwide telecom
service provider that I has submitted proposal over two years ago with
no success.
At first I felt hesitant to
call expecting the same answer I had gotten before. But what the heck, no guts no glory. I called and to
my surprise, the individual that I spoken to was still there and took my
call.
After a brief salutation, and chat about sports, weather, and his
industry, I got to the point and offered again my original and
additional services to him. I waited for a response from him which took
about 6 seconds (it seemed like a half hour) and to my surprise, he was
sincerely interested and requested that I forward a proposal to him
immediately.
I have since followed-up with the client, and that simple 2 minute cold
call will most likely result in an agreement valued at
$250K - $500K
for this year alone.
As a result of this episode, I will now prepare a new client target list
and spend two hours cold calling these accounts on Mondays. Two hours is
the time it would take me to go to a local coffee shop read the
newspaper and BS with friends.
Vic, your article was a great reminder of how we all know how a
simple a cold call can produce a "homerun". It's just reminding
ourselves that we can't hit the homerun if we don't go up to bat.
Thanks,
Raul Soto, President
